There are emotions within ourselves that we keep inside. There are feelings we do not want to face until we are in moments of weakness. IN this photo, I capture my friend in a halted moment. She is on the floor, on the dock of Long Island City Piers. In the position she is in, she closes herself off from not only me, but the world around her. She is surrounded by the New York City Skyline, symbolizing the many absent people there are around not only her, but us all. All the people in New York, and none of them really know her. She has her back against the symbolic stretch of city life and lights to face the darker side of the water.
